Procrastination Update

This is exactly what I thought would happen to this blog. I get busy and dont pay attention.

Life Updates:

Passed my ARDMS exam which took up way too much time of my life but thankfully its done for now..

Kicked ass this halloween as a ghostbuster

Getting a puppy. Yes, wow. I even surprised myself. Miss responsibility did not kick in and make a list of all the cons. You only live once and I know my maternal side will kick in sometime. I sure all the puppy books Ive picked up will help me out.

The dog is an Irish Terrier and after much research this breed looked the best fit. Only a minor problem being it is a very rare breed and basically only 1 breeder in all of Ontario sold them. Go figure. But fate kicked in and strangely enough their were first time breeders just down the street from us. Amazingly their were 9 pups born, 4 boys and 5 girls. Here is a picture of the puppies when they were first born.

So excited for our Christmas bundle. Now to continue the fight over its name!

Etsy finds

I accidently found a huge arts and crafts search site which turned out to be very popular and very cool. etsy.com allows people to have a place to sell crafts they make like jewellry, blankets, random crochet things or whatever. I actually found some nice art pieces that are original and havent been ridiculously marked up. Then there is the not so nice stuff on the site. The nice try but it is HIDEOUS fail.

Now I found another GREAT site dedicated to these questionable fails. Whats scary is people actually want money for this junk. My favourites where the crocheted toilet paper and leopard pink goat coat.

So hilarious.

My 30s future

"Your going to love my nuts." Vince from slap chop

I still laugh everytime when that part in the infomercial plays. Immature maybe. But thats how I role. I recently went to a Pampered Chef party with my Mom to look at investing some money into cool kitchen gadgets and all the ingenious tools that these women dont know how they lived without!! Comments like," it changed my life!" and "I would die without it" seemed to be flying around the room every time a new product was introduced and its magical powers explained. Now, yes the products are good and I did buy the oven stone because its practical and everyone swears by it. But at this party there was a moment where I realized this was my life in 15 years?

Scary and hey maybe I will love every second of it once I am there. But looking at these ladies talking about the school systems and how appalled they were that they couldnt just walk freely through their kids elementary school. It kinda made me laugh. This is what you talk about when you are 30? It was like the episode of Sex in the City where Carrie and the girls go to this baby shower and Carrie has the epiphony of if she wants to be a mother or not. Its scary to think I could be there soon, considering time lately has been moving like 5 days at a time. But I dont know if that ever will be me. I like to cook.. yes. But I dont think my life will be changed by something you buy in a catalogue. I also dont want to become the over protective mother who rallys against the principal because they will no longer let me be the celebrity mom and sit in the back of the classroom to watch the teachers every move.

I still dont know who I am or who I want to be. Ive given up on holding on to my teenage past but still questioning what makes me happy... I guess it wont be pampered chef!

Turkey

After working for 7 days straight it is time for a well deserved long weekend..
THanksgiving! As an expanding homemaker role I will make the pie and turkey!! Maybe even the gravy this year, but I usually get shoved out of the way. Thanksgiving always has the extra pressure of it better be good or else. I will eventually get there.. once the flour versus cornstarch debate for gravy is resolved.

Attempted crafts for this weekend.
Pumpkin Raccoon. Thanks to Martha Stewart for inspiration. Every year I have been expanding my pumpkin carving expertise. This year will be the biggest challenge yet.

Every year my Grammie wanted us to write a list of all the things we were thankful for. Lame? Wrong. Every year when I refused to read my list because I was too embarassed. This is one of those things that sticks to you, not in regret but in memory. This lovely lady truly embraced fall and thanksgiving and I believe was her favourite holiday. It makes me smile.

Things I am thankful for:
- Ellen Degeneres
- PC Decandent cookies
- Rob Pattinson scenes as Cedric Diggory and Twilight scenes
- Prince sleeping in the grass on his back sunning himself
- Pauls reaction to the grey blankey turned the "wrong" way everytime
- The OBrien lounger
- My dads hugs

Its Official

I have enough spare boredom time to put time into one of these.

My stats:
I am employed and living at home with the fam.

Use my free time to go out to camp and play out there.

Currently obsessed with planning my future place and renovating it even though it doesnt quite exist yet. Thanks to apartmenttherapy.com I have dreamed it up.

I also look forward to more of these nights. And dreading the word frost and dark mornings again.
